About Ian B Dearing LlB
I am a practising Solicitor and Notary Public engaged on notarial practice on my own account and as consultant solicitor principally to sfn Solicitors.
I have been engaged in legal work in Clitheroe, in Lancashire, since 1969 during which periods I have acted as principal in most types of legal matter and am a commercial lawyer with a transactional and litigation background. Property and capital taxation matters are bread and butter.
I have acted for publicly quoted English and Irish companies in general matters and have a core clientele of Lancashire business people where my role is that of the old fashioned legal advisor.
I was taught criminal law by one of Lancashire's finest defence advocates and took part in many prosecutions of heavy cases in 1970's with Lancashire Constabulary. In more recent years I have been involved defences in a number of "serious fraud" matters.
From early 1970's I was engaged as prosecuting solicitor by a regional water authority conducting prosecutions in relation to fisheries and pollution until Environment Agency took of the role.
I have a niche practice in the field of motor sport where I act for teams, manufacturers, drivers, suppliers managers and others in all aspects of motorsport operations in UK and abroad. This encompasses contractual matters, litigation, regulation and disciplinary matters at all levels from children in karts to Formula1 World Champion drivers and has included appearances before magistrates and other courts as well as the World Motorsport Council.
I am a director of The Riverside Charitable Trust and Chairman of Ribble Valley Borough Council Standards Committee.
I have been a small shareholder in a variety of PLC's since early 1970's and have been heavily burnt in recent years by Lloyds, HBOS, RBS and Cattles.
